We have re-released a bottling of the “Early Release” North American Steamship Rye™ as a six-month-old single malt rye whiskey, available only at our Speakeasy cocktail bar and Retail Shop. Handmade in our distillery from the 100% rye malt, this “Early Release” version of our whiskey was the first craft single malt rye whiskey made in Illinois. It has a more grain-forward flavor, with pound cake and rye spice notes. The 3-year-old straight that is on retailer shelves now is the oldest version released to date, but we had run out of that at the distillery earlier this year. So, we put down a couple small barrels for short aging. The retail price will remain $56 for a 750ml bottle of 87 proof whiskey. We plan to release a 4-year-old version next spring. It will be available through our distributor and retailers in April.
